INDIAN DIPLOMA IN REGIONAL ANAESTHESIA (IDRA)- PART 2

Viva- Voce and Skill test

Pre-requisites

  1. All the prerequisites as per IDRA –Part 1
  2. The candidate should have cleared the Part 1 examination with more than 75% marks.
  3. The applicant should have attended two advanced workshop on Ultrasound Guided Regional Anaesthesia (Points 20 each)/or an advanced workshop on Ultrasound Guided Regional Anaesthesia (Points 20) and a cadaveric workshop (Points20) conducted by IPSA.
  4. A total of 50 points are to be accrued to appear for IDRA part 2 which will consist of viva voce and skill test.

Syllabus

  •   Anatomy pertaining to regional anaesthesia
  •   Physiology and pathology related to regional anaesthesia
  •   Complications of regional anaesthesia
  •   Advantages/ disadvantages /contraindications in regional anaesthesia
  •   Pharmacology of local anaesthetics, narcotics, adjuvants and other medications used in management of pain
  •   Concepts in acute and chronic pain management.
  •   Basics of pain management in trauma, obstetrics, postoperative, pediatrics and cancer.
  •   Guidelines related to practice of regional anaesthesia in patients on anticoagulants
  •   Guidelines related to practice of regional anaesthesia in patients with infections/immunosuppression
  •   Knowledge about the use of nerve stimulators and basic concepts of nerve stimulation technique
  •   Basic concepts of Ultrasound Guided regional anaesthesia (Frequencies used, Knobology, PART manovere, types of probes)
  •   Management of “Local anaesthetic systemic toxicity”
  •   Communication skills of anaesthetist and interaction with patient
  •   Sedation techniques in regional anaesthesia
  •   Care of Perineural catheters
